First Erasmus + Workshop in Turkey

The Festivals among European society and traditions project is another funded activity by the European Commission in the field of strategic partnerships between schools in Italy, Lithuania, Greece, Bulgaria, two schools in Turkey – in Nevsehir and Kayseri. The first mobility took place in Nevsehir, Turkey. School Principal Mariana Halacheva and European Project Coordinator and English teacher Vanya Tuparova with participants from partner countries, were warmly welcomed at Cappadocia Airport.

The teachers participated in various activities related to   folklore and traditions of Turkey and the educational systems in different countries. Each partner country presents in an attractive way, through video, its educational system, country, city and school activities. The teachers   have visited   public and private schools, a modern college and kindergarten, and the objectives were to promote international partnership between schools; presentation of the Turkish education system; participation in seminars on project logo selection and tasks, a plan for the next visit, which is in March in Andezeno , Turin, Italy.

During the days from November 11 to 15, 2019, teachers were received by the mayor of the 112,000- Nevsehir city, visited the historical museum,   the volcanic architecture in the neighboring cities of the Cappadocia region, which is unique to this region only. Turkish partners presented the historic and cultural landmarks of Nevsehir. The teachers visited Goreme, Kaymakli (underground city), Uchihisar, Ortahisar Kalesi and all Cappadocia, known for its rocky sites that attract the attention of visitors. The working days ended with the presentation of certificates and gifts by the headmaster of the Nevsehir school, Mr. Ramazan Iesil, and the school’s European project coordinator, Ms. Ozge Cingil .
