Second day of the Erasmus + visit

On the second day of their visit, the pedagogical specialists from Greece, Turkey and Romania visited NPG “Dimitar Talev”, Gotse Delchev, where they visited the rich educational base of the school. Of particular interest to the guests was the robotics classroom, which presented innovative projects in which students work and win prizes in competitions.

At noon, the guests went to the nearby village of Banichan, where they were warmly welcomed with bread and honey by women dressed in beautiful costumes from the singing group to the community center “Vazrazhdane” in the village. Especially for their dear guests, they had prepared a great abundance of traditional dishes, such as sweet and savory pies, pies and other delicacies. In an extremely cordial atmosphere, the leader of the team Mrs. Katya Zaykova greeted her dear guests and told them why women and men gather regularly in the community center and what pleasure and variety they give meetings and activities there. The foreign guests were intrigued by the beauty of the Banitsa costume. They learned from their hosts how to knit colorful Banichan socks, how to make pesthimali (aprons) and how to embroider the beautiful Banichan embroidery. The skillful hosts talked about the natural materials they use in the costumes and the natural dyes from their garden, which they use to paint them. The foreigners dressed in beautiful local costumes, and the older women, in turn, told them how they have preserved them with much love from generation to generation – for more than 100 years. The women from Banichan also demonstrated their singing talent by performing several authentic local songs. Thus, they taught a real lesson in patriotism and preservation of valuable traditions in today’s globalized world, which touched the hearts of all guests.
