Another mobility of students and teachers from III OU-GREECE

A group of students from the Third Primary School “Miladinovi Brothers” – Milena Garkova, Georgi Kasapov, Ivana Kesarova, Hristina Lazarova, Ivanina Karadjova, and their teachers V. Tuparova and Zh. Medarev returned from a visit to neighboring Greece – the city of Drama. This is the third mobility under the project “The common heritage – from tradition to the future” under the Erasmus+ program. Participating partner countries in the project are Turkey, Romania, Greece and Croatia. The coordinator of the project is our school. After the warm welcome from the Greek side, the hosts presented traditional dances from Drama, as well as models of traditional folk costumes. After visiting the photo museum and the historical museum, the guests took part in the solemn celebration of the feast of St. Barbara on the lake in Drama. Late in the evening they attended the traditional opening ceremony of the Christmas Town in the city.

In the following days, they visited the ancient city of Philippi, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, the nearby village of Krinides, famous for its springs, the Church of Saint Lydia, the “blue city” of Kavala, the town hall. They also visited the Christmas Town. They took enough time for the two famous caves in the Drama area – Agiti and Alistrati. A nutritionist gave a lecture on “Mediterranean food”, and the students participated in creating a pyramid of healthy eating. Each country presented a presentation about their traditional dishes.

A visit to the music school in Drama, where lessons on trumpet, saxophone, violin, viola and flute, were of great interest to the students.

The end of this emotional week ended with a workshop where students, dressed in special costumes, prepared traditional Greek dishes. Our students and their teachers left loaded with many positive emotions and memories, with new friendships and unforgettable experiences.

Heartfelt thanks to the parents, students and the entire teaching staff of the Seventh Primary School – Drama!
